Christmas lights bring joy and excitement to the holiday season. Seeing the talent of our artistic neighbors come to life with their light display is fun and merry. In honor of that we have compiled a few tips for helping minimize damage to your home, and also share safe practices while installing the lights.

- Plan your design and measure the areas that you would like to light up.

- Prepare your lights for hanging. Make sure that the wires are not damaged, they can be a safety hazard if damaged.

- Make sure to look at the lights packaging for clip sizes, do not use staples or nails to hang lights.

- Set a timer for your lights, it is very inconvenient to have to wake up just to turn your lights off.
